Payment, Refunds and Cancellations
Full payment is required to secure your place on the course. Payments to be made by bank transfer, details will provided to you at the time of booking. Once the course has begun no refund is available, as your place can no longer be filled. We will give you written confirmation of booking via email if you provide us with one. Including start time and dates of each class.
Our group dog training classes consist of 6 sessions, and we encourage attendance at all classes in the course. We understand that personal commitments or illness may prevent attendance at a particular session. In such cases, notes for missed week can be provided on request, but no partial refund will be issued.
If classes are unable to run for any reason Imperial Dog Training will notify you of this ASAP and this training session will be rearranged/added to the end of the original course.
Safety
Any instances of accident or injury must be reported to the trainer at the time they occurred. All dogs must be kept safe and it is the responsibility of the owner to ensure the safety of others (other animals and people) with regard to your dog’s behaviour at all times.
Flexi leads (extending leads) are not permitted in training sessions in order to avoid injury. We would request you attend training sessions with a flat collar & lead or a slip lead.
For home visits, please arrange for your dog to be in another safe room (without access to the front door) when your trainer first arrives. We will advise you as to when (and how) it would be most appropriate to bring the dog into the room to be introduced to us. If you feel that this arrangement is not suitable for your dog for any reason, please just get in touch and we can discuss the best option for you and your dog.
Gundog work
Gundog classes are held in a variety of locations to simulate the experiences of a working dog. In some instances this may mean instructors are unable to guarantee the area being worked in is 100% securely fenced. While we will take every opportunity to try and ensure the safety of the dogs and set exercises up in a way to reduce the risk of escape it is the responsivity of the owner/handler to ensure the control of their own dog.
Training will involve jumping in to pens and running across varied terrain, this comes with a risk of injury and the owner/handler recognises this when participating in these exercises.
Imperial dog training will ensure their own equipment used is of a safe standard to reduce and risk of injury. Any equipment brought and used by the owner/handler is at their own risk and not the responsibility of Imperial Dog Training.
If at any stage the owner/handler is uncomfortable with any exercise or situation they are put in they should raise this concern immediately with the instructor and not place their dog in a position to participate in any exercise they are not comfortable with.
Children
Children are very welcome to attend training sessions, with appropriate adult supervision. We accept no responsibility for children at training sessions and it is the responsibility of the supervising adult to ensure the children’s safety at all times. Young people under 16 must be accompanied by an adult. If a child’s behaviour disrupts the class or poses difficulties for any of the dogs, we may request their removal. Thus, we recommend at least two adults attend if bringing young children.
Health and Vaccination
All dogs and puppies should be suitably protected from the potential risk of disease, as well as being appropriately treated for internal and external parasites. Imperial Dog Training advises that owners should consult their veterinary professional with regard to such issues. There can be no guarantee that there is absolutely no risk of disease at any venue or when in contact with any other dogs or materials, such as toys, which may have been in contact with other dogs. It is the owner/ handler’s responsibility to ensure that their dog is appropriately protected against the risk of disease: Imperial Dog Training accepts no responsibility for the potential or actual exposure of dogs to disease.
If an owner chooses not to routinely vaccinate their dog/ puppy (for example because they are choosing titre testing etc.), this is entirely the choice of the owner and is a decision made at their own risk. By agreeing to these Terms and Conditions, you are accepting full responsibility for the protection of your dog from the risk of disease. Please advise us in advance of the session if your dog has been in contact with another dog infected by a contagious disease or if they appear to be unwell (eg. vomiting, diarrhoea, coughing, runny nose etc). Depending on the issue, it may be advisable for the session to be cancelled or re-arranged.
If your dog has any known allergies or intolerances to certain foods or has any other special needs, it is your responsibility to bring this to the attention of the trainer prior to the start of the session, and provide appropriate alternative treats etc.
We request that bitches in heat do not attend group sessions, unless agreed otherwise with Imperial Dog Training. If you are unable to attend sessions due to your bitch being in season we would request you contact Imperial Dog Training ASAP to advise of this and we will attempt to offer a suitable alternative training option.
