I have owned dogs for as long as I can remember, and I got my first Labrador over 20 years ago. I took her religiously to weekly training classes, did my homework and really enjoyed training her. Fast forward 10 years, a marriage, 2 kids and a divorce later I got my first fox red puppy and the training started again.

I have always loved learning, and training my labs was another journey I have really enjoyed. Having multiple dogs in the home means that they must be well behaved and training for me is a daily routine. 6 years ago I got into Gundog training and I’ve been hooked ever since and now am beginning to complete in gundog tests and work towards trialling some of the dogs.

Sharing knowledge is something I’ve always enjoyed and we aim to make your training journey fun as well as educational. It is not always easy but we will be there to help you get the most out of your dog!

I have always been a huge animal lover and had family dogs all my life as well as horses. Our family dogs have always been working labrador gundogs and I have worked the dogs on shoots since I was young.

I got Quinn, my Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever, in 2020 and since then have done a variety of training with him including gundog, agility and trick training.

Training has not always been a straight-line journey for us, between lockdowns and reactivity issues we have had plenty of hurdles to overcome, but from this I have learned a huge amount and built on the handling skills I already had.

There is nothing more rewarding than seeing the progress you can make when you put the time into training your dog! It will not always be easy, and everyone has different challenges to overcome but our aim at Imperial Dog Training is to give you friendly advice and support along the way to help you on your journey.
